Wallpaper comes in some great finishes and colours from sleek metallics to creamy mattes or a pop of colour in a feature nook to soft focus in a bedroom.
Here are the top 5 ways to use wallpaper.
1. The Darkside
Charcoal and black may not invoke the feeling a being cosy in a room but dark colours like these are ideal for creating a cocooning vibe providing that you use a subtle pattern. Add bursts of colour with your furniture or accessories to create an inviting warm space.

Use stripes to add length, width or height to a room - vertical stripes can make a ceiling appear higher. Stripes are a great way to draw your visitors eye to a feature like a stairway or door.

3. Pattern
The great thing about wallpaper is the many pattern available, from florals to geometric shapes the possibilites and of course choice, are endless. If you want your room to feel large and airy then you may want to ensure the wallpaper pattern you choose is more subtle. However, larger and more dramatic patterns make a great feature wall and can be used in larger rooms without feeling too overwhelming.

I remember back when I was pregnant with my first child who is now almost 12, I had a very clear idea on how I wanted her nursery to be decorated, no pink, purples or anything remotely girly (which is kind of ironic when my 4 year old has more pink than you could possibly poke a stick at).
At the time there was no wall stickers, wallpaper or anything like that so I found a company in NSW who specialised in nursery furniture and sent off for a wallpaper border which had handpainted brightly coloured fish on it! *snigger* Oh, how I loved that border, looking back now, I realise my decorating juices had most definitely NOT kicked in yet. LOL
These days there is so many gorgeous things available to create a beautiful space for your new babe. There is wallpaper of course but wall stickers are also a very popular choice.
Our friends at The Wall Sticker Company have a very cool competition on at the moment - you can win everything you need to create the ultimate nursery.

I just love this room.
The contrast between the dark wood and white just looks fresh an inviting.
